The Whippet is in the Hound Group, a sight hunter, which means it basically is a hunter. It is a medium size dog with medium energy levels and has an easy coat to take care of plus he loves his family. They are said to be Calm, Affectionate and Playful. They were recognized by the AKC in 1888 and are #59 in the Most Popular Breed List. It is said to be an English Greyhound in Miniature. The Whippet is the fastest of Domesticated Animals of his Size and goes 35 mph. (Leash get my Leash now!) But really they like to be couch potatoes so let them get all the love and exercise they need (leash) they will stay by you!
